What are the differences between Granite and Quartz
Quartz
Typically made of 90 – 95% naturally sourced quartz stone, combined with high quality polymer resins, additives and coloured pigments. Quartz stone is engineered using a cutting-edge procedures and techniques. This means a wide range of colours and patterns can be produced, creating an extremely durable and inpenetrable pourus-free surface with a high shine finish. So in short quartz worktops are manmade and can have additives such as pieces of mirror, glass, glitter, shells and dyes added to them to create uniform patterns and colours. The manmade structure of quartz makes it far stronger than granite and some quartz brands also have anti-bacterial properties and are therefore considered more hygenic than granite
